Buy Bids
For10cents.com offers the lowest-priced bids in the entertainment shopping industry. The larger the BidPack, the lower the cost of a single bid. Our least expensive bids cost just 10 cents each!
There are three types of bids: silver, gold and platinum. They correspond to the 3 types of auctions. To purchase bids, click on Buy Bids on the top menu bar and select a BidPack. Your account will automatically show the value of bids in 3 options – silver, gold, or platinum. For example, a $45 BidPack could be used as 300 silver, 100 gold, or 60 platinum. Purchased bids will appear in your account immediately after you make the payment.
To participate in an auction, just place your bids. The system will automatically debit the cost of silver bids for a silver auction, gold bids for a gold auction, and platinum bids for a platinum auction. You will see your available balance and how many bids you have remaining in all three types of auctions. It's that easy.
Choose a Product
For10cents.com has something for everyone with three main types of auctions: Silver, Gold and Platinum. They are easily identified by the colored tab on the top of the auction card and the color of the bid button.
Silver Auctions
Our Silver Auctions offer a great value and are very affordable. Silver Auctions provide an opportunity to win highly desirable products at excellent discounts with the lowest bid costs.
Gold Auctions
These auctions offer the widest spectrum of some of our most desirable products, spanning numerous categories and price ranges. Gold Auctions offer a tremendous value.
Platinum Auctions
Platinum auctions offer only high-end, carefully selected merchandise, the best electronics, appliances and computers. The chances of winning a Platinum Auction are greater, due to strict winning limits and fewer players.
The Shield Feature
The Shield feature applies to all three types of auctions and is meant to increase the chances of winning for bidders with less experience. On the shield you'll see a number which indicates auction available only to bidders with a limited number of wins in last 180 days. If you see an Auction with a shield and a number on it, you may participate only if you've won less than indicated number of that kind of auctions.
Peek-a-Deal Auctions
This is a unique type of auction. Certain rules, like those related to winning limits, AutoBid, or the auction clock, do not apply here.
In Peek-a-Deal Auctions, the current purchase price is concealed until you place one bid by clicking the "SHOW PRICE" button. When you place the bid, three things happen:
- The purchase price drops by 20 cents
- The current purchase price is displayed
- You are given the option to purchase the item for the current purchase price shown
You can purchase the item or wait for the price to go further down, but if you wait too long, someone else might get it first, so choose wisely! You will have up to 30 seconds to decide whether you’d like to purchase the item, otherwise you’ll need to place another bid. Keep in mind, however, that other players may decide to purchase the item at any time. The username of the buyer will be displayed.
Purchases on Peek-a-Deal Auctions DO NOT count towards winning limits.
Learn the Auction Process
- You can place bids manually by clicking an auction's BID button and/or by using the AutoBid function. See "Start Bidding" for more on AutoBid.
- Each auction has a time listed next to the product image (either Soon or a specific time in hours/minutes/seconds). The timer indicates when the auction will start. Before the auction starts, you can only bid once, to receive a reminder email/text notification about the auction start time.
- Once an auction starts, every time a bid is placed, extra time is added to the clock to allow other bidders a chance to place their bids. The timer counts down and initially gives participants 30 seconds to outbid the last bidder, then 15, 10 and finally 6 seconds. These increments are visible on the clock icon located on every main auction card. The auction lasts as long as bids are being placed.
- An auction ends when the time reaches zero. The bidder who was the last to bid wins the auction.
- The end of an auction is indicated as "Sold" on the auction page.

Start Bidding
Bids can be placed manually with the click of your mouse and/or automatically, with AutoBid. You can use both methods during the same auction. The last ten bids placed either manually or with AutoBid can be seen in real time in the "Last Bidders" list in the auction detail window.
To bid manually, click the BID button on the bottom or on the side of the product image. If your offer is the current highest bid, your username will appear underneath the current price. After each bid the timer resets and starts counting down again.
Using AutoBid
- Click on the product you want to bid on.
- Enter the number of bids in the AutoBid Setup section – the minimum number is 45.
- Click the "Turn On" tab.
More on AutoBid
- AutoBid is a useful tool designed to automatically bid for you if you are away from your computer or not logged in but don't want to miss an auction. This feature also allows you to keep focused on a specific auction while letting AutoBid take care of the other auctions you are bidding on.
- AutoBid allows you to set up the number of bids which will be automatically placed during the auction.
- The minimum number of bids that you have to set to use AutoBid is 45. If you would like to use fewer bids than that, you will have to bid manually.
- When you set your AutoBid in an auction, bids are instantly reserved for that auction regardless of when the auction actually begins. This applies to all AutoBids you set up. This prevents the situation where you set up an AutoBid for a future auction but in the meantime you use up the bids on other auctions and as a result you do not have enough bids in AutoBid.
- Consequently, you may have bids in your account, but if they are reserved for automatic bidding in an auction, you will not be able to use them in other auctions.
- You can’t cancel AutoBid once you set it, but you may be able to change the amount of bids (the minimum is 45).
- Any remaining bids in the AutoBid Reserve will be automatically credited back into your bid account.
- When setting up AutoBid, you will be alerted automatically if you do not have enough bids in your account.
- The system automatically turns AutoBid off when you run out of bids.
- If you run out of bids and you still want to participate in an auction, you need to add bids to your Bid Account and set AutoBid again.
- AutoBid places bids in the order in which they were set or changed.
- In auctions where more than one bidder is using AutoBid, the current price is increased by the total number of bids of all bidders who are using AutoBid. For example: if 12 people are using AutoBid, the price will increase by 12 cents.
